Renewable Energy Roundup

Thursday = Roundup straight up (no diggity).

There is a new wind farm in Texas, what what!

Canada is ramping up renewable energy in Alberta.

Not to be outdone the Spanish are going to have an island powered by nothing but renewable energy.

OH yea, well the Hungarians are cutting there gas bill by two thirds using biofuels.

In case you haven’t heard, algae is going to make sweet biofuel crops.

When algae is not solving our fuel woes it is lowering our blood pressure.

This is a first for us, a video in the roundup.

Speaking of videos you really need to check out this sweet one about how we can solve our problems by learning from nature.

It might have been a slow year for Atlantic hurricanes, but the Indian and Pacific ocean are unfortunately not so calm. Madagascar has been destroyed by back to back cyclones.

Some very smart chaps at oxford have developed a fuel cell that runs on air, no really.

Scientists have come one step closer to understanding how plants work, with this knowledge they will be able to do all sorts of wonderful things.

packaging waste in Europe

Packaging waste is a big problem.

A boy has found a watch that, before global warming, used to be burried at the north pole.

  1. Did ne1 else notice the use of propane, a gas derived from petroleum or natural gas processing, in the PR thermohaline circ electricity generator? Is it possible to build a closed system so that there is no loss of mass and you are only purchasing the propane when you first build the device? Otherwise, a very awesome idea to use a naturally occuring energy cycle to produce energy. I would LOVE to see this become a reality.

  2. Hi Dew: If you watch the video again you will see that the propane is reused over and over and is not burned. They use propane because of its low boiling point. So yes you would put it in there once and it would go and go.
