It makes sense for people in poor countries to use solar or wind power. This was a really good, thorough article. I'm surprised few, if any, businesses have moved in on this market. They could build large solar plants and sell the electricity fairly cheap because the governments would likely subsidize them.

With so many manufacturing jobs gone, and so many manufacturing plants closed, the United States has the OPPORTUNITY to start a "Green Revolution" - much like the Industrial Revolution and Internet Revolution - both of which significantly changed the World. Americans back to work - both in R&D and manufacturing (good heavens, haven't the politicians got it yet - IT'S ALL ABOUT JOBS!). Imagine the day when we can all go to a Big-Box do-it-yourself center or (dare I say,....) WalMart and purchase solar panels, geo-thermal, fuel cells, etc. we can take home and install ourselves - AND - it's INEXPENSIVE TO DO! Everyone wins - which is why, in my cynical mind-set, this may unfortunately never happen.

How about this?: The government should give people incentives to install solar panels on their roofs to save energy. These systems should be mass produced to cut costs.

Who knows in the future even cars with solar panels on top could be developed, so that it can charge batteries while parked (or even running), with additonal built-in resources for energy production, and we could do without polluting fossil fuels?

Wow, don't tell the oil industry barons that I gave that idea. They could come after me and. . .

Think about it. . .

Why did the UNEP need to do this, in a country that just had to have nuclear weapons. This is a country that is taking good paying jobs from all over the world, and are becoming quite wealthy. Their cast system will not lit the poor become less poor. A country that has nuclear power should be able to help these people without outside help. There are nations in the world that are more poor,Nations that don't have nuclear power, and would benefit more from this project.

Well, solar power will work better there than here in the US - besides, we've got oil and coal to fill our energy needs.
