Using renewable solar power to generate electricity is good for the environment. At the same time, it’s got a lot of practical advantages. Most people know they can lower your utility bill by as much as hundreds of dollars per month. But this isn’t the sole extent of their goodness. Here are 7 more reasons to love solar power

Has any one done comparisons between an active solar thermal system for radiant heating and hot water heating versus a ground source heat pump for heating? We're going to build a new house and I had planned to go with solar for radiant heating, with a high efficiency propane boiler backup, and domestic hot water, with an instantaneous hot water heater (Rinnai) as backup. However, several of the builders we are considering are really pushing the ground source heat pump. We'll be in the four corners area of Colorado with lots of sun and electricity costs of about $.11 per kwh.
