A lot of politicians say they are going to “change the tone” in D.C. What usually ends up happening is not much. Obama has taken flak from the left and the right for trying to work in a bipartisan way, and today he marched right into the Republican house caucus, and laid it down with very bluntly. The republicans have positioned themselves as the party of NO, and this leaves them zero wiggle room to work with the party that is in the majority, even if they wanted to.
