Actually It might be time to come up with a new name. Of the 150 glaciers in Glacier National Park in 1850, only 25 remain. Eleven of the park’s iconic named glaciers have melted away since 1966…

For more pics go here. This isn’t just ice melting, this water is important to the local economy (both from tourism, and for drinking and farming). More than 2 million people visited this park in 2009, supporting thousands of jobs. Climate change does more than rise sea levels, it can put you out of a job too. Factor that in next time you make the calculation about what kind of car to buy, or what kind of energy you want coming into your home. “Cheap” coal energy wont be so cheap if it puts you out of a job.
