About five years ago a friend sent me a link to the semi-submerged cigars by Ocean Power Delivery, in design at that stage, and currently in process of deployment off the coast of Scotland. I was invited to review the concept with consideration for installation in Australia. Having spent most of my life in, on or engaged with the ocean, I consider myself to be a responsible and prudent mariner; and my review of the device in question was scathing to say the least. In short, I not only condemmed the preposterous clap trap contraption, but I invented a seaworthy version of my own to counter the shipping disaster that is about to happen off the coast of England with the unfortunate installation of their rediculous piece of flotsam. I built and posted a website explaining and illustrating my concept, the Ocean Swell Momentum Electricity Generating System; OSMEGS at this address, http://wavepower.homestead.com/index2.html It is clearly described throughout the first 25 pages of easy to read, simply formatted, non scrolling pages. On page 25 I rip into the wave/ocean enrgy community for all of it’s foolhardy delusions and useless, hazardous daliances into maritime affairs from the dry landlubberly safety of their expensive drafting tables and convertible drawing boards. The OPD device is NO more; aka Pelamis in it’s early days was never designed to survive, I hope these gentlemen aren’t too surprised, and thankfully there was no disaster; meaning that the device was junked before it could do any. Anyway, if you haven’t stayed abreast of this, or if you have; I’ve seen you all on my statcounter, ( Thnx for the visit; just send money lol) I have built a new home page for OSMEGS and if you click it you’ll find that this device has been donated to our Ass kickin’ President Barack for developement, seeing as how, Gore, Shwarzneger, Newson and everyone else ignored my efforts to contact them and rather than give this to Branson, a guy who DOES get things done; I chosen to keep it ‘in house’ and give ‘homeboy’ a shot at saving the planet. I know that this is going to be so BIG that I’ve only kept 10%, and that will be plenty for me.
